Sore throat and constant phlegm??

i have had a sore throat for about 5 days now and i have had CONSTANT phlegm... at times when my throat is particularly sore there are spots of blood in my phlegm... i also have a very blockeed up nose and ears... what can i do to relieve it... i have to go back to school tomorrow? and is it a particular condition or just a yucky cold virus?
