Is it me or is this presidential election more over bickering than politics?

it seems as if obama and mcain are more worried about making each other sound worse, rather than talk about why they would make a good president. i'm sick of all the negative commercials, and pointless arguments they have on the debates. It seems as if they arent even talking about politics anymore its all about making each other look bad.. what do you think?
